At the London prop expo, most surveyed traders had bought more than five challenges
PropFirm Beacon research desk · Published
A small survey of 32 traders at the October 2026 London Prop Trading Expo found heavy challenge spending and almost 20% over £5,000. Here is what that does and does not tell you.
What the survey found
TradeInformer ran a QR-code survey at the London Prop Trading Expo on 23–24 October 2026 and kept 32 usable answers. Most respondents had bought more than five challenges, and almost 20% had spent more than £5,000 on challenges. Most had first heard of prop firms through social media; friends and expos were also named. The same report says a majority used offshore brokers for higher leverage.
Thirty-two answers from people who attended a trading expo is not a representative sample of all traders. It is a snapshot of committed, often heavy spenders. We report it because it matches a pattern visible elsewhere, not as an industry statistic.
Put it next to the payout rate
Finance Magnates cites industry data suggesting only around 7% of traders who buy an evaluation ever reach a payout. On that figure, buying more challenges is not a reliable path to profit. Most of what traders spend becomes the firm's fee revenue.
Before you buy your sixth challenge, add up what you have spent and compare it with what you have actually withdrawn. Our payout calculator shows the profit you would need to recover your fees under a firm's split.
