Prop firms that allow copy trading across accounts
Rules re-checked July 20, 2026 · 8 of 22 firms qualify
Copy trading is how funded traders scale past a single account's allocation. It is also the rule most often misread: copying between your own accounts is usually fine, while copying the same signal that hundreds of other traders at the same firm receive is usually a hard breach.

Own-account copying vs group copying
Own-account copying means one master account and several of your own funded accounts at the same firm, executing identical trades. Futures firms actively encourage it — Apex allows up to 20 accounts, and multi-account copying is the standard way traders reach meaningful size in that category.
Group copying means many unrelated traders at the same firm mirroring one signal provider. Firms ban this because their aggregate exposure to a single strategy becomes uncontrollable, and because it is the mechanism behind most coordinated payout-farming. If a Telegram group sells you a signal, assume the firm can see the clustering.
Why futures firms lean into it
A futures firm's per-account allocation is capped by contract limits rather than by nominal balance, so a trader who wants more size buys more accounts. That is a direct revenue line for the firm, which is why Apex, Elite Trader Funding, Tradeify, Funding Ticks and My Funded Futures all provide native copy tooling or explicit permission.
The catch is drawdown correlation. Twenty accounts running one strategy do not diversify anything — a single bad session breaches all twenty simultaneously. Traders who scale this way should treat the whole stack as one position and size accordingly.
Payout consistency across copied accounts
Consistency rules apply per account, so a copied stack passes or fails them together. If your strategy has one outsized day, every account in the stack fails the same consistency check on the same date.
Stagger payout requests rather than submitting them on the same day. It is not a rule requirement, but reviewers process a batch of identical requests more slowly than they process a single one, and a batch is what triggers manual review at most firms.
How we classify this rule
- ·'Yes' = copying across your own accounts at the firm is explicitly permitted, usually with tooling.
- ·'Limited' = own-account copying tolerated, third-party or group signals prohibited.
- ·No firm on this list permits selling signals that other traders at the same firm execute.
FAQ
- Which prop firms allow copy trading between multiple accounts?
- Apex Trader Funding (up to 20 accounts), Elite Trader Funding, Tradeify, Funding Ticks, Lucid Trading, Take Profit Trader, Topstep and My Funded Futures all permit copying across your own accounts. Forex firms generally permit it too, but without the same multi-account scaling model.
- Can I copy trades from a signal provider?
- Not safely. If other traders at the same firm follow the same provider, the firm's duplicate-trading rule applies and the outcome is typically account termination rather than a reset. Copying your own manual entries into your own accounts is a different thing entirely.
- How many prop firm accounts can I have at once?
- It varies from one to twenty. Apex is the most permissive at 20; most forex firms cap total allocation rather than account count, meaning you can hold several accounts as long as the combined funded balance stays under the cap.
- Can I copy trades between two different prop firms?
- Yes — no firm can see your account at a competitor. Watch execution differences: a fill on a CFD feed and a fill on a futures feed will not match, so the same strategy can pass at one firm and breach at another on the same day.
