Prop firms with no consistency rule

Rules re-checked July 20, 2026 · 10 of 22 firms qualify

The consistency rule is the single most common reason a first payout gets delayed. It rarely appears on the pricing page, it applies at withdrawal rather than during trading, and it punishes exactly the outcome most traders are aiming for: one very good day.

What a consistency rule actually does

A typical rule says no single trading day may exceed 30-50% of your total profit in the payout window. If you make $6,000 of which $4,000 came on one day, a 30% rule means you cannot withdraw until you have added enough profit on other days to bring that day's share down.

It is not a breach. Nothing is lost — the payout is deferred until the distribution flattens. But traders who expected money on Friday and discover a month of grinding ahead of them experience it as a bait-and-switch, which is why it dominates complaint volume.

Why futures firms have it and forex firms mostly do not

Futures firms pay out on simulated accounts funded from their own balance sheet, and their worst commercial case is a trader who gets lucky once on maximum size and withdraws immediately. The consistency rule filters exactly that pattern.

Forex CFD firms manage the same risk differently — through scaling plans, allocation caps and internal hedging of profitable traders — so a hard consistency rule is less common. FTMO, The5ers, FundedNext, Alpha Capital Group, E8 Markets, Blueberry Funded, FunderPro and The Edge Funder all operate without one on their standard accounts.

Trading around the rule without wrecking your edge

The wrong response is to cut winners early to keep days even. That destroys the expectancy that got you funded. The right response is to plan the payout window: if you have an outsized day early, keep trading normal size for another two weeks rather than requesting the payout immediately.

Also check whether the rule measures gross or net profit, and whether it resets after each payout. A rule measured on net profit across the whole account life is materially harsher than one measured per payout window, and firms rarely make the difference obvious.

How we classify this rule

  • ·'Yes' = no consistency or maximum single-day rule on the standard funded account.
  • ·'Limited' = applies on selected plans only, or as a soft payout cap rather than a hard rule.
  • ·'No' = a fixed percentage cap applies at payout; the exact percentage is in the per-firm note.

FAQ

Which prop firms have no consistency rule?
FTMO, The5ers, FundedNext, Alpha Capital Group, E8 Markets, Blueberry Funded, FunderPro, Take Profit Trader, Breakout and The Edge Funder operate without one on their standard funded accounts. Take Profit Trader is the notable futures exception.
What is a 30% consistency rule?
No single trading day may account for more than 30% of the profit in your payout window. Apex applies this at payout; Funding Ticks uses the same number; Topstep uses a more generous 50%.
Does the consistency rule mean I lose the profit?
No. It delays the withdrawal until your profit distribution meets the threshold. Profit is not confiscated — but read the wording, because a small number of firms apply a discretionary clause on top, and that one can remove profit.
How do I pass a consistency rule quickly?
Keep trading at your normal size after a big day instead of stopping. Every subsequent profitable day lowers the big day's share of the total. Cutting size to avoid another large day is the slowest possible route.
