Prop firms with no time limit on the evaluation
Rules re-checked July 20, 2026 · 22 of 22 firms qualify
Calendar deadlines are mostly gone from this industry — but they were replaced by two other clocks: minimum trading days, and monthly subscription fees that make a slow pass expensive. Here is what each firm actually charges you for time.

The deadline died, the meter did not
Between 2023 and 2025 nearly every firm dropped its 30-day phase-one and 60-day phase-two deadlines. The marketing framing is trader-friendly. The commercial reason is churn: a trader with a deadline fails and leaves, while a trader without one keeps paying or keeps hoping.
Futures firms replaced the deadline with a monthly subscription. Topstep, Apex, Take Profit Trader and My Funded Futures charge every month until you pass, so an evaluation that drags for five months costs five times the advertised price. 'No time limit' and 'no time cost' are different claims.
Minimum trading days are the real constraint
Most firms require between three and five trading days before a payout or a phase pass counts. This exists to stop a single lucky trade from producing a funded account, and it is enforced strictly.
The trap is the definition of a trading day. At some firms any position opened counts; at others the day only counts if the position is closed, or if it produced a minimum P&L. A trader who scratches five trades for zero can find that none of the days counted.
How to use unlimited time well
The best use of an unlimited evaluation is to trade it exactly like a funded account: same size, same hours, same setups. Traders who treat an unlimited evaluation as a sandbox develop habits that then breach the funded account, which is a more expensive mistake than a failed challenge.
The second best use is patience around the payout cycle. If your firm charges nothing per month — most forex firms are one-time-fee — there is no cost to waiting for your setup. On a subscription futures firm, every idle month is real money, so pass fast or pause the subscription.
How we classify this rule
- ·'Yes' = no calendar deadline on any evaluation phase.
- ·We note where a monthly subscription replaces the deadline, since that is a time cost even when it is not a time limit.
- ·Minimum trading-day requirements are listed per firm because they are the operative constraint for fast passes.
FAQ
- Do any prop firms still have a 30-day evaluation limit?
- Almost none of the firms we track. The industry moved to unlimited evaluation periods between 2023 and 2025. Where a limit still appears it is usually on a heavily discounted promotional plan, so read the plan sheet rather than the homepage.
- Is there a minimum number of trading days?
- Usually three to five. Futures firms typically require five winning or trading days before the first payout; forex firms more often apply the minimum to the phase pass. Check whether a day counts on open or on close.
- Does no time limit mean no cost for taking longer?
- Not on futures firms. Topstep, Apex, Take Profit Trader, My Funded Futures and most other futures evaluations are monthly subscriptions — the longer you take, the more you pay. Most forex firms charge one time, so slow is genuinely free there.
- What is the fastest realistic time to a funded payout?
- Around two to three weeks on a one-step futures firm with a five-day payout cycle, assuming you pass quickly and clear the minimum days. Anyone promising faster is describing a lucky outcome, not a plan.
